Read The Past
and Present of Peavey Electronics by Hartley Peavey,
Founder and CEO for more on Peavey's beginnings and where
it's headed.
Peavey and its divisions also serve as a major audio communications
conduit for industries across the board, and can be found
in government buildings, theme parks, airports, stadiums
and more all over the world.
Facilities
Peavey presently has 33 separate facilities with overall
square footage of about 1.5 million square feet. Although
we have moved some production to the Far East for our lower-end
products, we continue to add sophisticated production equipment
to our U.S.- and England-based manufacturing facilities.
As a matter of fact, we've added approximately $7.5 million
dollars of new and sophisticated production gear within the
last year. The reason that we continue to make this commitment
is that our goal "to be the best" still remains
our guiding philosophy.
Affiliates and Divisions
Peavey Musical Instruments
The Musical Instruments (MI) division of Peavey Electronics
is the oldest and largest sector of the company. Hartley
founded Peavey Electronics on the principle of providing
quality MI products—namely instrument amplifiers
and P.A. (public address) systems—at affordable prices,
and this principle has spawned an array of guitars, basses,
amplifiers and drums for an ever-expanding market that
includes all levels of musicians, from beginning to intermediate
to advanced.
Likewise, the modern Peavey MI line targets all levels of
musicians. From flagship products such as CS® Series
power amplifiers, Triple XXX® guitar amplifiers,
Cirrus™ bass guitars and HP® Signature Series electric
guitars to entry-level Guitar and Bass StagePack™ kits,
a diverse scope of artists relies on Peavey gear.
New technologies such as Analog Acoustic Modeling™ (ACM)
make it possible for an electric guitar to mimic the tone
and nuances of an acoustic guitar—try the Generation™ EXP
and see for yourself—and revolutionary audio processors
such as the KOSMOS® are being used to add bass and dimension
to both modern and classic recordings, including music by
Led Zeppelin, Nickelback, The Black Crowes, Dream Theater
and many more.
And Peavey still dominates the P.A. business, too, with
a product line ranging from the compact Escort® portable
sound system to QW™ Series professional array loudspeakers,
designed for use in arenas.
MediaMatrix
During the ten years since the initial MediaMatrix installation
in the U.S. Senate Chamber, Peavey Electronics' MediaMatrix
division has revolutionized the high-end audio technology
market with its computer-based audio processing and control
interfacing systems.
MediaMatrix is now the leading technology for the audio,
communications and integrated media industries and the established
standard in configurable audio systems throughout the world.
Although originally conceived as a single product, today
MediaMatrix serves its high-end markets with an entire line
of signal processing units, Windows- and UNIX-based software
and user-control tools for creating the world's most elaborate
systems via computer. As the MediaMatrix product line has
expanded, so have its applications; MediaMatrix installations
can be found all over the world, including the Parliament
Houses of New Zealand, Russia and Germany; the Sydney Opera
House in Australia; most major theme parks and more than
one-fourth of all NFL stadiums in North America.
MediaMatrix is now poised to redefine communication in transportation
facilities, where demand for network-centric infrastructure
and flexible configuration options makes MediaMatrix the
perfect choice for paging, announcement control and messaging.
Architectural Acoustics
Peavey created its Architectural Acoustics division to provide
sound solutions for the demanding professional sound installation
industry. Architectural Acoustics manufactures loudspeakers,
power amplifiers, mixers and more, all specially designed
for permanent installation and manufactured to the specifications
of sound contractors. You can find Architectural Acoustics
products everywhere, from supermarkets to theme parks.
PVDJ
The newly established PVDJ division, created to promote Peavey's
successful DJ product line, markets DJ mixers, power amps,
enclosures, processors, microphones and accessories directly
to DJs. Peavey has designed and manufactured professional
audio products for DJs for over 30 years, and PVDJ provides
the same uncompromised performance and reliability synonymous
with the Peavey brand. The PVDJ product development team
is comprised of designers, engineers, musicians and, most
importantly, DJs from around the world.
Crest Audio
In 1999, Peavey acquired Crest Audio, America's premier manufacturer
of premium power amps and audio mixers. Recently, Crest Audio
moved into an all-new facility to better serve its customers
in the U.S.A and around the world.
This vast diversification enables music and sound consumers
to depend on Peavey for every audio need. With a continuing
commitment to Research & Development and input from our
customers, Peavey leads the industry in numbers of patents,
trademarks and registered products—an ever-present
indication of Peavey's ongoing innovation and manufacturing
excellence.
