November 10, 2004

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Country Music Association honored Peavey endorser Kenny Chesney last night with its two most prestigious awards, including Entertainer of the Year. Chesney also won Album of the Year for When the Sun Goes Down, his latest release, at the 38th annual CMA Awards, broadcasted live from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and hosted by Peavey Nashville™ amp endorsers Brooks & Dunn. In addition, the show's hosts picked up their 12th Vocal Duo of the Year Award and performed the new single "It's Getting Better All the Time." Fellow Entertainer of the Year nominee and Peavey endorser Tim McGraw kicked off the three-hour broadcast with a performance of the rocking "How Bad Do You Want It?" complete with pyrotechnics. McGraw's No. 1 hit "Live Like You Were Dying," a tribute to his late father, won the CMA Award for Single of the Year. Chesney's band uses Peavey T-Max(R) bass amplifiers and Classic(R) 30 and Nashville Series steel guitar amplifiers, while Denny Hemingson of Tim McGraw's Dancehall Doctors band also uses Nashville Series amps.
