ANAHEIM, CAPeavey proudly introduces the new Omniac JD USA guitar, designed with rock 'n' roll guitar legend Jerry Donahue. The signature Omniac corrals five groundbreaking rock tones into a fully modern, expertly crafted guitar.
When it comes to the time-tested single-coil tones that helped define rock 'n roll guitar, the most influential guitar and pickup designs were created prior to the mid-1950s in two instruments: a two-pickup design and a three-pickup design. Until now, working guitarists would have to drag at least two guitars to a gig or session in order to capture all of these celebrated rock tones. The Omniac captures the best of these tones in one two-pickup instrument.
The secret is a unique electronics package that includes a Seymour Duncan® pickup setincluding the specially wired Jerry Donahue Signature pickup in the bridge positionand a proprietary five-way selector switch that reveals these five stunning, classic guitar tones.
"The Omniac is a finely crafted guitar," says Donahue, "and a workhorse for anyone who wants to access these appealing warm and bright tones without having to haul around a bunch of instruments. I've respected Peavey guitars for quite some time, and this is a very special guitar."
In addition, Donahue wanted the Omniac to maintain very consistent output. "If you're going through stomp boxes or want to get more gain, you shouldn't have to run and adjust your effects or amp every time you switch tones," he explains.
The Omniac's charisma is reflected by its playing comfort and high quality construction and materials, including a striking birdseye maple neck, rich body binding and chrome hardware.
The Omniac guitar will be available in Q2 2005 from authorized Peavey dealers.
