"As a Mississippi company, this tragedy is very near to all of our hearts," said founder and CEO Hartley Peavey. "Many of us have family and friends in the hardest-hit areas, and many in our own hometown sustained damages. Peavey was fortunate to rebound within a few days, and we want to help our fellow Mississippians get back on track. That's what will heal this state."
Peavey is based in Meridian, Miss., where Katrina wrought damage as a category-one hurricane. The company was unable to open for four days due to power outages and blocked roadways, but rallied to full output by September 2.
