Bleeding Through 'Cut Through' with Peavey 6505™ Guitar Amps
Pro Comm(R) wireless systems also in band's live arsenal on Strhess, Warped tours
When Bleeding Through guitarist Scott Danough discovered the Peavey 6505 guitar amplifier on a recent tour, the first thing he did was track down a 6505 for his own rig.
"The combination of the Peavey 6505 head and Triple XXX(R) cabinet is something I stumbled upon while on tour with Arch Enemy," says Danough. "That head and cab complement each other perfectly; they just blew me away. I have tried
all the high-gain amplifiers out there, and nothing comes close to the sound of this head."
Danough has also found that his 6505 amp head stands out prominently in the mixso much that 6505 amps and Triple XXX cabs now make up his main guitar rig for stage and studio, including this summer's Strhess and Warped tours. When you're working with another guitar player, plus a keyboardist and a full rhythm section, that's quite a feat.
"I use a lot of presence in my tone to give it extra push, and that helps me cut through the mix," Danough explains. "But it's not really necessary, because this head cuts through no matter how you set it up."
6505 Series amps feature five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes, with presence and resonance controls and three-band EQ for taming their notorious tone. These amps are available in standard 120-watt heads (6505 and 6505+) and a 60-watt 2x12 combo with two Peavey Sheffield(R) loudspeakers (6505 212). The matching 6505 412 cabinets (slant and straight) are outfitted with four Sheffield loudspeakers.
The 120-watt Triple XXX head has three channels and pairs four 12AX7 preamp tubes with four 6L6GC power amp tubes (or four EL34s), and features a damping switch for tight, medium or loose resonance. Triple XXX cabinets are available in slant or straight models and feature specially voiced Triple XXX loudspeakers.
Bleeding Through's next album,
The Truth, is slated for release in January 2006 on Trustkill Records.
