Slipknot, Delbert McClinton Win 2006 Grammy Awards

Peavey gear used on winning track & album — Peavey congratulates endorsers Slipknot and Delbert McClinton on their awards at the 48th annual Grammy ceremony Wednesday night.Slipknot won the Best Metal Performance Grammy for "Before I Forget." Bassist Paul Gray began using a full Peavey bass-amplifier rig prior to recording "Before I Forget" and the album Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses, and his Pro Series amplifiers and loudspeaker enclosures drive the band's signature low-end punch."I tried out a lot of different amps and I kept A/B'ing it with the Peavey Pro 500 head and GPS 2600 power amp," says Gray. "I definitely needed the power to be heard over nine people! I needed something that would cut through, and Peavey had everything I was looking for."Delbert McClinton won the Best Contemporary Blues Album Grammy for Cost of Living, which features bassist Spencer Campbell with his Peavey Pro 500 amplifier and Pro 410 enclosure. Campbell also has a six-string Grind bass in his arsenal.The Grammy is the recording industry's most prestigious award, presented annually by the Recording Academy to honor excellence in the recording arts and sciences. The Grammy Awards are telecast annually to an international audience of over 2 billion in 180 countries.
