The record-breaking summer tour may be over, but country star Kenny Chesney and his band of Peavey-endorsed backing musicians are just getting started.
To celebrate the release of the new album Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates, the Chesney band cranked up for a run of live dates with their new Peavey musical instruments, amplifiers and sound equipment. The crew just wrapped Chesney's Flip Flop Summer Tour, which Pollstar named the Top Country Tour of 2007.
The only country act to play NFL football stadiums over the last three years — this year included sold-out stops in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Seattle, Boston and Detroit — Chesney's Flip Flop Summer Tour played to more than a half-million people and is among the Top 5 tours in any genre.
Since making his debut in 1993, Kenny Chesney has recorded thirteen albums, eleven of which have been certified Gold or Platinum by the RIAA. To date, he has also produced thirty Top Ten singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, twelve of which reached Number One.
In addition, Chesney has received six ACM (including three consecutive Entertainer of the Year Awards), as well as two CMA awards. Chesney is also one of the most popular touring acts in country music, regularly selling out the venues at which he performs.
