Steve Morse
"I would say the most important thing, from the listener's standpoint, is that your heart and soul are absolutely into what comes out of your instrument," said Steve Morse. "Whatever I play, I try to put my heart and soul into it." Obviously, Morse is a success from his listeners' standpoint considering he has made nine albums with the Dregs (formerly known as the Dixie Dregs); four albums with Deep Purple; four projects with his own group, The Steve Morse band; two more with Kansas; and one cannot forget "High Tension Wires," his own solo project. Looking from the outside in, it's pretty clear that the crowds love him, which is why he keeps giving them more and more to be excited about. From his early days of playing classical guitar to his more recent electric days, this "Guitar Great" definitely loves his work. However, there was a point in his life when the grass looked a little greener on the other side of the fence. After leaving the music business for a while to pursue a flying career, Morse realized that every job has its high points and low points. So after a short break, he returned to the music scene and has stayed there ever since, although sometimes he can still be spotted flying high.
