Ron Elliott
This Salisbury, Maryland, native began playing steel guitar when he was 16 years old, and his talent and natural showmanship quickly opened the doors to a professional career in music. Following his gig playing with Hawkshaw Hawkins and a stint in the U.S. Army, Ron moved to Nashville to play steel guitar for Grand Ole Opry artist Stonewall Jackson. During his many years in Nashville, he has performed with Jack Greene, Jeannie Seely, Charlie Louvin, Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells, Cal Smith, Justin Tubb, Johnny Bush, Cal Smith, Melba Montgomery, Ray Price and numerous Opry stars. Ron also recorded four instrumental steel guitar records—including two for Step One Records—and recently debuted his latest release,
For the Good Times
, at the St. Louis International Steel Convention. Ron's love for the steel guitar later brought him to Sho Bud, where he helped design new steel guitars. While employed at Sho Bud, he began to perform at some of the first steel guitar conventions in St. Louis and continues to perform at various steel shows throughout the U.S.
