Kelsey DiMarco
Some Summer. " class="vr" cols="100" rows="15">The first thing you notice about Kelsey DiMarco, after his boyish good looks and that smooth-as-silk baritone, is that he has a weighty, warm presence with strong ideals rooted in an historical, almost "Father Knows Best" time. He likes old things; the things he grew up with. He still lives where he was raised in tiny Bowersville, Georgia, near Lake Hartwell on the Georgia-South Carolina border. He likes old cars. He collects old medicine and Coke bottles. His value system is much like his grandfather's—he thinks you should treat people fairly. He knows hard work and believing in yourself will take you to your goals, and that living simply and being yourself is its own reward. And of course, he likes the music he grew up with, too. Whether it's Haggard or Waylon or Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson or Charlie Rich or Hank Jr., you can hear those influences in the music he makes. But before you go thinking that he's a complete throwback, know that he's thoroughly modern as an artist and a businessman, both of which are immediately obvious in his dynamic Wreckless Records debut,
