Eugene Moles
Born in Bakersfield, California, Eugene Moles moved to Nashville in 1987. Since then, He's spent most of his time as a session player. He started playing live with Merle Haggard when he was 18 years old. Additionally, Moles was a Buckaroo on Hee Haw for a while, as well as playing the Grand Ole Opry for ten years. Eugene Moles was greatly influenced by his father, Gene Moles, who gained much recognition as an instrumentalist. His father played on many sessions at Capitol Records in the 1960's playing on the first initial recordings of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. Eugene attributes his learning to play the guitar to the enviornement he grew up in, "this environment gave me the opportunity to learn from some of the best pickers on the west coast: Don Rich, Roy Nichols, James Burton. I was instructed by Roy Nichols as a teenager, and began playing the Bakersfield honky-tonk circuit as well as becoming a member of "The Palomino Riders" in Hollywood. I finally made a permanent move to Nashville, where I managed Fireside Recording Studio recording studio, And wrote for a publishing Company." He plays live in town, or with an artist when he's not playing on, or producing sessions.
